Drug Testing, Physicals and First Aid/CPR Options

With U.S. Maritime Academy's online telepresence classes, it is virtually impossible to list every potential facility to get a drug test, physical or First Aid/CPR class for every state. For that reason, we highly suggest that you perform a google search in your area. We do offer some suggested vendors below.

The USCG has very specific criteria for obtaining medical clearance, so please pay attention to the notes below, particularly with regard to the First Aid/CPR and drug testing.

First Aid/CPR

The USCG has very specific requirements for First Aid/CPR courses and only approved courses are accepted! Certified courses must have an official course number on the certificate and be approved by the USCG.

First Aid / CPR classes: An excellent online (hybrid) option for First Aid/CPR Classes. Their course is USCG approved and  allows you to schedule on your own time. Sign up for their email list and receive 10% off the normal course fee ($85).

Physicals and Drug Testing

Physicals may be conducted by any Physician or Physician's assistant, however some familiarity with the 719k form (or standard DOT physicals) is helpful. If selecting your own drug testing center, be sure to obtain only a 5 panel DOT test by a SAMSHA approved lab authorized by a physician.
